This Friday night sees the much delayed launch of the Rochdale Former Players Association.
With Friday’s game celebrating the 100th anniversary of Dale playing in the Football League, we thought it was the perfect opportunity to finally launch the Former Players Association.
We have 29 former Dale players in attendance on Friday as we celebrate all that is good and great about this Football Club.
Those former players attending are: Dave Bayliss, Colin Blant, Dennis Butler, Les Chapman, Barry Diamond, Tony Ellis, Kevin Formby, Wayne Goodison, Gareth Griffiths, Paul Hallows, Keith Hicks, Mark Hilditch, Dean Hill, Keith Hill, Richard Jobson, Gary Jones, Alan Keeling, Tom Kennedy, Lee McEvilly, Steve O’Shaugnessy, Shaun Reid, Billy Rudd, Derek Ryder, Nathan Stanton, Mark Stuart, Brian Taylor
Steve Taylor, Kevin Townson and Scott Warner.
Plans have been in place to launch the FPA for a couple of years or so, but with one thing and another, we’ve never had the opportunity to formally launch it.
The plans behind the FPA is to organise a number of events for ex-colleagues to reconnect, such as Golf Days, Sportsman’s/Reunion Dinners, Fans Forums and guests at Spotland on Match Days including “Man of the Match” Presentation.
