Fantastic turn out on the Friday centenary celebration on Rochdale’s 100th year of competing in the Football League (EFL).
The night began with meeting up with ex colleagues from the 1960’s up to modern times at hospitality before the match in the 1907 lounge, sharing stories and listening to the exploits of two Dale legends in Shaun Reid and Gary Jones followed by a parade at half time, which brought a rousing response from both sets of supporters.
To end a fantastic experience, Shaun Reid presented Aaron Morley with the “Man of the Match”
This was part of the launch of the Dale Former Players Association that will be seeing social events to reconnect and hopefully raise funds for local charities.
A Facebook site (Rochdale Former Players Association) and Website (https://www.rochdalefpa.com/) have been set up to bring news of events and memories from past exploits at the Dale.
The idea of setting up the DFPA resulted by a push by Dale Trust, especially Chairman Col Cavanah, and is endorsed by the PFA attempting to see all Clubs in England engaging with supporters.

More photos of the evening are available on Rochdale AFC’s Website.
Also thanks to Siobhan McElhinney and Scott Smith for following us around all night taking shots of the action.
