Wayne Goodison will be returning to the Crown Oil Arena for the match against Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday 18th April reporting on his time during 1989-91 to hospitality diners prior to kick off.

Time at Dale: Wayne was one of Terry Dolan’s first signings in the summer of 1989 joining from Crewe Alexandra, missing only one game at right back as Dale managed their first top half finish since relegation sixteen years earlier, also reaching the FA Cup 5th Round for the first time ever.
Wayne was captain for a while using his experience from his spells at Barnsley and Crewe Alexandra to good use during his time at Spotland, which saw him appear in 78 matches, scoring 4 goals.
What are you doing since leaving Dale?: After spells in non-league football at Hyde United, Accrington and Stanley, Wayne played at Buxton, where he was Player of the Year before taking over as manager followed by spells at Chorley, Trafford, Salford City and Nantwich Town. Wayne currently works has an University Lecturer at UCFB, based at the Etihad and Wembley whilst continuing in football co-managing 1874 Northwich in the NPL West League.
