
He came through the ranks playing for his hometown Club, having studied at Kingsway High School before being offered an apprenticeship leading to full time professional contract.
Scott remembered making his first team debut in the away thrashing of Wrexham in August 2002, appearing as a very late substitute but having to wait until December before given his full debut away at Bournemouth.
Scoring goals was not a strong point, with just two to his name but he rightly argued about quality over quantity with his stunning thirty yard volley against Torquay United that picked up “Goal of the Season”
After leaving Dale, he moved to Radcliffe Borough, where he made 34 appearances, becoming a major contributor before signing for Hyde United, where he decided to retire to set up his electrician business.
He now spends Saturdays down at the Crown Oil Arena supporting Dale with his two lads, who we wish to follow in dad’s footsteps.
